Monywa Town - MyanmarThis morning, depart Mandalay for a 3-hour drive to Monywa, a typical Burmese town. 
Monywa is a city in central Myanmar and situated on the eastern bank of the Chindwin Rive. Mandalay Division. It lies 136 km north-west of Mandalay along the Mandalay-Budalin branch railway line. Monywa serves as a major trade center for India and Burma through Kalay Myo road and Chindwin river.
On the way, visit Thanboddhay Pagoda, a huge Buddhist temple covered with more than 500,000 Buddha images. Also stop at Boditahtaung Pagoda which houses the largest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar, at 100m long and 27m high. This afternoon, explore some of the outlaying sights of Monywa. Visit the Kyaukka lacquer ware village and Shweguni Pagoda, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Upper Myanmar.

Day 2: Mandalay Discovery Tours Monywa & Po Win Taung: Monywa Adventure Tours to Po Win Taung – Mandalay ( B )

After breakfast, cross the Chindwin River by ferry and proceed to Po Win Taung by local open-air jeeps. This extraordinary complex consists of 947 sandstone caves dug out of the hills and contains what is considered by archaeologists to be the richest collection of mural paintings and Buddhist statues in Southeast Asia. After visiting Po Win Taung, continue a few hundred meters away to Shwe Ba Taung. Spend time exploring this interesting site where monasteries and temples are carved out rocky narrow cliffs. Pyin Oo Lwin This morning, leave Mandalay for a scenic two-hour drive to the former British hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin (also known as Maymyo) located on a plateau 1,000m above sea level. Many reminders of the colonial era are still present in Pyin Oo Lwin, including brick and timber houses. Pyin Oo Lwin is home for many ethnic tribes as well as a considerable numbers of Nepalese and Hindu who migrated during the British occupation, famous for its climate weather. Enjoy a traditional horse cart and carriage ride through town. Stop at the Botanical Gardens, 432 acres of leafy gardens home to a diverse mix of botanical species from around the world. The Gardens were established by Sir Harcourt Butler, former Governor of Burma. Continue to the local market to see the multicolor flowers and vegetables on sale.

Day 2: Myanmar Northern Adventure Tours: Pyin Oo Lwin – Hsipaw Walking Tour ( B, L )

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to the railway station for a 6-hour train journey to Hsipaw. The scenic journey crosses the famous Gokteik Viaduct which spans a 300-meter deep gorge in the Shan mountains. Lunch-box on board. Arrive this afternoon in Hsipaw, a pleasant small town on the banks of the Dokhtawady River. Take a short evening walk around Hsipaw.

Day 3: Myanmar Northern Adventure Tours: Hsipaw Trekking Tour ( B, L )

Hsipaw Trekking Tour - Myanmar Breakfast at a local restaurant. This morning, take a light trek around Hsipaw with a local guide. You will pass paddy fields, seasonal cultivations, green mountains and stop in several villages along the way. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the trek. This afternoon, return to Hsipaw by local boat on the Dokhtawady River.

You will learn about the seasonal crops they grow, which include the leaves used to produce the ubiquitous cheroots. Early arriving arrive a local monastery where you will enjoy dinner and a welcomed chance to relax.

A scenic morning ride brings you to the village of Nyaung Shwe, on the banks of the massive Inle Lake. This massive lake is Myanmar's second largest and home to the Intha people. The Intha's have lived for years in stilted villages upon the lake, and make their livelihood fishing and growing crops on unique floating gardens. The lake is set in beautiful surrounds, with the mountains providing a beautiful backdrop to the colossal body of water.

On the final day of your trip you tour the lake by private boat. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes it one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast Asia. Your Myanmar tour begins with a tour through the city center stopping at the glittering Sule Paya and tranquil Mahabandoola Park as well as walking past the fading colonial-era courthouse and city hall. You'll also stop by Nanthida Jetty, a great place to see the local lifestyles of the Yangon people. Lunch at local restaurant. This afternoon, your sightseeing continues with a visit to Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, which houses a 70-meter reclining Buddha. Continue via Kadawgyi, Royal Lake, which is home to a hamsa -shaped floating barge. After a short tea break, head to Shwedagon Pagoda, the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar. Set off this morning for the first leg of your bike ride to Bagan. You'll cycle from Yangon to Latpadan (142km/ Appr. 7 hour) and then continue to Pyay by car (Latpadan - Pyay 156Km/Appr. 6 hours). The route follows quiet roads and passes through local markets and villages where you can stop to meet the locals, take photos and learn about rural Burmese lifestyles. A midday lunch stop will be made at local restaurant. Upon arrival in Pyay transfer to your hotel for a chance to freshen up. Biking in Yangon - MyanmarTake a short tour of Pyay, the town formerly known as Prome. Today's journey takes you to Magway by bike and car. After breakfast, you'll depart Pyay by bike following Thit Yar Kaut Street out of town until reaching Koe Pin Junction (60km). The road is mostly flat and free of traffic. At the junction, your car will be waiting to transfer you the final 26 km to Magway. lunch will be served at local restaurant and enjoy the tea break in the evening. There is plenty of time to relax and prepare for tomorrow's challenging ride, or you can explore the town. Across the Irrawaddy from Magaway is the unusual Nga Ka Pwe Taung, an unusual pool of bubbling mud with a nearby temple. Dinner at local restaurant.

Wake up early this morning and fuel up for a challenging ride to Mount Popa (90km). On the way, the scenery changes as you cross into one of the most arid regions of Myanmar. The landscape is filled with toddy palm fields and you will have a chance to stop and observe the process of creating toddy juice. The toddy-palm plays an important role in Myanmar rural life, beyond creating juice and sugars for the people, it also provides shade as well as provides materials for making household utensils, building and medicines. Lunch at local restaurant en route. This afternoon you'll reach Mount Popa Mountain Resort, Mt Popa Mountain Resort - Myanmaryour hotel for this evening. After breakfast, begin your visit with a stop at the colorful Nyaung Oo Market where every day the locals come to buy and sell fresh produce and other goods. Continue to the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda for an introduction in to Bagan's rich history. Continue to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and one of Bagan's most beautiful temples. Built in the early Mon-style, Ananda contains two unique Buddha images whose expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the statue is viewed. Lunch at local restaurant. This afternoon begin with a visit to a traditional lacquer ware Bagan - Myanmarworkshop where you can observe the production of one of Myanmar's best-known handicrafts. After a short tea break, head to temple to enjoy the sun set views over the plains. Dinner at local restaurant.

This morning, bike to the rural village of Minnanthu, one of Bagan's least visited areas, Here you will explore temples such as Payathonzu, Lemyentha and Nandamannya as well as Kyat Kan Cave, a famous meditation center. You willalso visit nearby farming villages to observe the farmer's way of life. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, enjoy your day at leisure at your hotel in the afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant.

You will be truly amazed to take this spiritual tour as you trek and climb the Golden Rock, one of Myanmar's main pilgrimage sites. Day 1: Yangon Adventure Tours: Yangon Package Tours – Kyaikhtiyo – Golden Rock Sightseeing Tours ( B )

Depart Yangon early this morning for a journey by road to Golden Rock in Yangon - Myanmarand the Golden Rock. Late morning, arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp (approximately 5 hrs). Travel by local, open-air truck along a winding road (45 minutes) where you be dropped off at the junction camp to travel the final distance to Golden Rock on foot. The uphill trek is along a paved trekking path and offers great views of the surrounding area. For an easier alternative, four porters can carry you uphill in a specially-made sedan chair allowing you to enjoy the views without all of the hard work! (extra cost not included) After about one hour of trekking, reach the Golden Rock. A huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff, Golden Rock is one of Myanmar's main pilgrimage sites. The pagoda here is said to hold a hair of the Buddha and Buddhist from across the country come here to pay homage.

Day 2: Yangon Adventure Tours: Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon Package Tours ( B )

After breakfast, return to the basecamp by open-air truck and begin the return journey to Yangon. En route, stop in Bago, the capital of the 6th century Mon kingdom. Your visit in Bago begins at Shwethalyaung Temple which houses a beautiful 55-meter long reclining Buddha. Continue to the Mon-style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar and whose 114 meter spire is taller than the one at Shwedagon Pagoda. Before departing Bago, visit the well-restored former palace, Kambozathadi, which was the marvel of Asia when it was originally built in the 16th century. On the way back to Yangon, stop at the Allied War Cemetery near Htaukkyan. 1. Please note that credit cards and traveler cheques are not accepted in Myanmar and that visitors must be bring sufficient cash (best in US Dollars, but Euros also increasingly accepted) to change and make any purchases and payments. Please bring new US Dollar bills ("big heads" instead of "small heads") and with series numbers not starting with CB as these are not accepted in Myanmar due to rumours these series are counterfeit.
2. Furthermore please inform passengers that they should NOT change money at the exchange booth at the airport just after immigration, as the market rate in town is MUCH better.
3. A surcharge might apply for peak season dates (Water Festival 12-18 April, X’Mas, New Year, etc.
